Job description
Overview

The charity delivers employment and in-work support to individuals with Autism to support them in the work environment or securing employment. Four days a week you will be working with 18-24 year olds supporting them into employment. Many haven’t previously worked, so they will need support creating CVs and building confidence. The other day will be spent carrying out in-work support. You will be responsible for advocating for low and high level individuals in roles such as scientists, cyber security experts and more.

Responsibilities
  • Supporting individuals within their job roles by setting action plans, encouraging engagement and helping them to settle in.
  • Supporting individuals with employability skills and preparation towards voluntary work and/or paid employment.
  • Increasing confidence and communication skills with the aim of supporting progression.
  • 5-6 hours of contact time daily with participants.
  • Working closely with employers to provide education on Autism and work on reasonable adjustments.
  • Liaising with multiple agencies to best support participants in the role.
Qualifications
  • To apply, you must have work or lived experience with Autism. Or you might have experience of working with people with support needs, so could have worked as a tutor, teacher or learning support assistant or teaching assistant.
  • You might be a Psychology graduate with relatable experience, worked as a support worker, hostel worker, careers advisor or employment advisor.
