Job description

A welcoming primary school in Rainham, Gillingham is seeking a committed and enthusiastic Year 2 Teacher to join their team on a 2-day per week job share, ideally Tuesdays and Wednesdays, to cover medical leave from January through to April.

This is a well-supported role with planning already in place, making it an excellent opportunity for a teacher looking for a manageable, collaborative position while still playing a meaningful part in a Key Stage 1 classroom.

Year 2 Teacher responsibilities:

  • Deliver engaging and consistent teaching to a Year 2 class across two days per week
  • Follow provided planning to ensure continuity and progression
  • Support preparation of classroom resources where possible
  • Work collaboratively with the job-share partner and wider KS1 team
  • Contribute positively to the school’s inclusive and supportive ethos

Year 2 Teacher requirements:

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or other UK recognised qualification
  • Recent experience teaching in KS1, ideally Year 2
  • A collaborative and flexible approach to job-share working
  • Willingness to support with resource preparation
  • Enhanced DBS registered on the Update Service (or willing to apply)
