Warehouse Supervisor

Lloyd Recruitment Services are working with an industry-respected business in the outskirts of Crawley, who are looking to hire a Warehouse Supervisor to support the daily running of their warehouse and yard operations.

This is a pivotal role within the warehouse team, ensuring high accuracy levels, and a safe and organised working environment. The ideal candidate will be an experienced warehouse professional with proven leadership capabilities and a strong understanding of logistics processes.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Ensure timely, accurate picking, packing, and dispatch of orders, prioritising urgent requests
  • Oversee stock levels, returns, damages, and maintain accurate system records
  • Conduct cycle counts and resolve stock discrepancies
  • Maintain a clean, safe, well‑organised warehouse with correct storage and product rotation
  • Lead and implement space‑saving and process improvement initiatives
  • Promote strong health & safety standards, including HSE checks and compliance
  • Manage equipment checks, maintenance schedules, and statutory inspections
  • Oversee safe operation and maintenance of warehouse machinery and vehicles
  • Produce reports on stock, fulfilment accuracy, safety, and equipment
  • Lead, motivate, and support the warehouse team, including delegation, performance monitoring, and training
  • Collaborate with sales and transport teams, and respond promptly to queries to support excellent customer service

Skills, Experience & Qualifications Required:

  • Previous experience supervising a warehouse, yard, or logistics team
  • Knowledge of logistics, distribution, and supply chain processes
  • Experience in monitoring team performance, and addressing any issues fairly as necessary
  • Competency with warehouse or inventory management systems
  • Strong communication, organisation, and problem‑solving skills
  • Understanding of Health & Safety requirements and compliance
  • Physically capable of manual handling and working in indoor/outdoor environments
  • Strong computer skills
  • Full driving licence and access to a vehicle

Desirable:

  • Forklift licence/certification
  • Experience within the building materials sector—knowledge of roofing or sheeting products advantageous
  • Proficiency with warehouse management software
