Yard Operative/Forklift Driver

We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Yard Operative/Forklift Driver to join our team at a leading construction company. This is an excellent opportunity for an individual with a strong work ethic, attention to detail, and a commitment to maintaining a safe and efficient working environment. If you hold a valid counterbalance forklift certification and a driver’s license, we encourage you to apply for this full-time position.

Responsibilities
  • Operating a counterbalance forklift to load, unload, and move materials safely and efficiently.
  • Organizing and maintaining the yard to ensure a clean, safe, and orderly environment.
  • Assisting with the receipt, storage, and dispatch of construction materials and equipment.
  • Conducting routine checks and maintenance of the forklift to ensure it is in good working condition.
  • Supporting the team with general yard duties as required.
  • Adhering to all health and safety regulations and company policies.
Qualifications
  • A valid counterbalance forklift certification (essential).
  • A full and clean driver’s license (essential).
  • Previous experience in a similar role within the construction or related industry (preferred).
  • Strong organizational skills and the ability to work independently or as part of a team.
  • A proactive attitude and a commitment to maintaining high standards of safety and efficiency.
Day-to-Day
  • Starting the day at 8:00 AM and working until 5:30 PM, Monday to Friday.
  • Operating the forklift to handle materials and equipment.
  • Collaborating with colleagues to ensure smooth yard operations.
  • Performing regular checks on equipment and reporting any issues promptly.
  • Keeping the yard organized and ensuring all materials are stored correctly.
