Qualifications

  • Full UK Driving Licence (with no more than 6 points) to visit sites.
  • Relevant facilities experience preferred.

  • H&S knowledge (e.g., ISOH managing safely) required.
  • Understanding of risk assessments and method statements is crucial.
  • Being a certified First Aider is necessary.
  • Being trained as a Fire Marshal is essential.

Location

This role will initially be based in Bradford but we're moving our office to Leeds Valley Park in summer 2026, so you will be based there in the future. You will be expected to travel to other sites across our network and therefore a full UK driving licence is needed with less than 6 points.

Work Type

Permanent. 37 hours per week, Monday — Friday.

Where you fit in!
  • Ensure that all sites comply with statutory regulations, inspections, Codes of Practice, COSHH and relevant Health & Safety legislation and policies.
  • Carry out periodic building checks, raising jobs for any non‑conformances.
  • Induct contractors to site, ensuring they are aware of YW company procedures and site‑specific hazards.
  • Act as Operational Representative and second reviewer of Contractor RAMS documentation to ensure statutory compliance and Health & Safety requirements, adhering to all Yorkshire Water Safeguard protocols and guidelines.
  • Control accurate and comprehensive administrative records, including emergency information, health and safety logbooks and compliance log sheets.
  • Read, understand and comply with YW Management Procedures relevant to the role.
  • Liaise with contractors on site regarding building maintenance and services, adopting overall responsibility for the coordination and management of maintenance and repair services.
  • Ensure that all service delivery is provided within budgetary constraints, highlighting any non‑conformance to the PO or Plan on a timely basis.
  • Provide support and act as the prime interface between building needs and services.
  • Maintain fire alarm and firefighting equipment in operational condition.
  • Identify all locations of emergency lighting, risers, electrical distribution boards, stopcocks, and all isolation points, understanding the services they provide within each building.
  • Act as Fire Marshal and 1st Aider for all emergencies and planned evacuation procedures whilst on site.
  • Maintain the Property and Equipment asset register.
  • Provide written and verbal reports as required.
What skills & qualifications you will need
  • Full UK Driving Licence (with no more than 6 points) to visit sites across Yorkshire Water as required.
  • Relevant facilities experience.
  • Basic awareness of M&E.
  • Relevant H&S knowledge (e.g., ISOH managing safely).
  • Understanding of principles of risk assessments and method statements.
  • First Aider (fully trained and certificate dated).
  • Fire Marshal (fully trained in all aspects of fire duties).
  • Support for flexible working patterns and job share options where possible.
