Overview

Workington Lead Radiographer, Band 6, up to 37.5 hours. The closing date is 25 September 2025.

North Cumbria Integrated Care NHS Foundation Trust is seeking to appoint a Band 6 community site lead Radiographer at Workington hospital who will also rotate through West Cumberland Hospital, Whitehaven. This post is suitable for Radiographers with at least two years post qualifying experience to work on a rotational basis across X-ray and DEXA. The successful candidate will be expected to be the Lead Radiographer at Workington Hospital and participate in all aspects of plain film X-ray Theatres, Fluoroscopy and DEXA at West Cumberland Hospital. You must be able to demonstrate excellent interpersonal skills, the ability to coordinate workflow and a focus on providing a caring, patient centred and flexible approach to work.

We are committed to developing professional practice and positively support personal development for all colleagues. The department runs 24/7 and all staff are expected to work at other sites in the trust, if required, to meet service needs.

Main duties of the job

This post offers a unique opportunity for a highly motivated Radiographer to develop their imaging skills as part of a small dedicated team in a busy District General Hospital. Duties involve leading and managing the day to day service at Workington hospital and rotating through DEXA, X-Ray, fluoroscopy and theatre imaging.

It is essential that you are flexible and able to work a range of shift patterns that will include long days, evenings, out of hours and weekends according to the needs of the service.
