Senior Workforce Information Analyst

People Services Division | 37.5 hours | Based at Buckingham Row, Wigan
Shortlisted candidates will be asked to complete a short technical assessment as part of the selection process. This will be proportionate to the role and designed to assess analytical and data-handling skills relevant to the post.
Responsibilities
- Lead the development of innovative data dashboards (Power BI/Qlik) with narrative-driven insight
- Ensure ESR and all workforce systems are optimised, accurate and fully integrated
- Provide expert analysis to support recruitment, retention, absence, wellbeing and EDI workforce priorities
- Manage data integrity, quality assurance and audit processes
- Support statutory returns (e.g. WRES, WDES, PWR, NWRS)
- Lead on workforce systems training, capability-building and digital workforce improvements
- Manage and develop a Workforce Information Analyst
Qualifications
Minimum requirements:
- Significant experience in workforce data analysis, data visualisation or systems administration
- Advanced analytical skills, including managing large datasets, trend analysis and complex reporting
- Expertise in Microsoft Excel and strong skills in BI tools (Power BI/Qlik/SSRS)
- Experience developing dashboards, reporting suites and data quality processes
- Proven experience using ESR or similar systems, including upgrades and optimisation
- Experience delivering workforce data to senior stakeholders
- Ability to lead/contribute to system improvement projects and service redesign
- Highly effective communication skills, able to explain complex data clearly
- Strong organisational and prioritisation skills, with ability to work under pressure
Desirable:
- Experience working in NHS workforce, HR, payroll or finance data
- SQL, AI/digital automation, or advanced analytics experience
- Understanding of rostering systems (HealthRoster)
- Experience managing a team
- Knowledge of procurement or IT contract management
