Work Experience Recruitment Officer

Salary – £26,994 per annum, pay award pending

Hours – 37 hours per week, all year round

Contract – Permanent

Location – Peterborough

About the Role

As a Work Experience Recruitment Officer, you’ll be the face of Inspire Education Group (IEG) within the business community – finding, securing, and nurturing employer partnerships that transform students’ futures. You will actively source new work placement opportunities through research, outreach, networking, and employer engagement. Every relationship you build directly benefits our learners and strengthens the college’s position as a leading skills provider.

What You’ll Be Doing
  • Proactively research, contact, and onboard new employers to secure high‑quality student placements.
  • Generate your own business leads through cold‑calling, networking, marketing activity and referrals.
  • Build strong, lasting relationships as the main point of contact for employers.
  • Conduct organisational needs analyses to identify opportunities that support employer growth and student development.
  • Promote the full range of employer solutions including apprenticeships, training, and industry placements.
  • Attend college and employer events to champion work experience and engage new partners.
  • Complete all placement administration, ensuring CRM systems are kept accurate and up to date.
  • Conduct employer health and safety checks in line with policy and legislation.
  • Work closely with the Work Experience Recruitment Team Leader to achieve KPIs and engagement targets.
  • Collaborate with colleagues to resolve placement issues quickly and professionally.
What We’re Looking For
Essential
  • Experience in a proactive, customer‑facing or sales role
  • Proven success generating your own business leads
  • Strong planning, organisation, and administrative skills
  • Excellent communication – confident, professional, and engaging
  • Ability to work independently, manage priorities, and meet deadlines
  • Confident with IT systems, including CRM platforms and Microsoft/Google applications
  • Understanding of safeguarding, equality, diversity and inclusion
  • A valid driving licence and willingness to use your own vehicle for business travel
Desirable
  • Experience in education, employer engagement, or work placement coordination
  • Level 3 qualification
  • IAG experience or qualification
