Wire Harness Technician
Full-time 37 hrs

Raytheon UK is looking for a Wire Harness Technician to join our Glenrothes or Livingston team on a permanent basis. You will be focused on building, maintaining and repairing test wire harnesses.

As Wire Harness Technician, you will report to manufacturing engineering function, however, will support harnesses required for Manufacturing, Test Development and Engineering

Main Duties:
  • Build new test harnesses from wiring schedules and schematic diagrams
  • Identify source of any harness failures and repair where necessary. This will usually take the form of visual inspection or point to point wire checks
  • Assess any cables for reliability concerns and recommend improvements
  • Liaise with engineering to clarify any issues to aid the successful completion of a repair/build
  • Manual assembly of circuit boards
Candidate Requirements:
  • Previous experience of test harness manufacture and circuit card assembly processes
  • Soldering and inspection to ANSI-J STD/IPC610, mechanical and wiring assembly
  • Ability to interpret wiring schedules and schematics
  • Ability to gather materials and tooling necessary to perform work
  • Highly proficient in all areas of cable build, including soldering, crimping, wire splicing, cable dressing
  • Ability to communicate with all levels of the business
Desirable:
  • ANSI-J STD/IPC620 Cable and Wire harness accreditation
