A leading renewable energy company is seeking a Wind Turbine Service Technician based in Haslingden. You will be responsible for the servicing and maintenance of wind turbines, ensuring high availability. The ideal candidate will have mechanical or electrical training and experience to troubleshoot effectively. Contract Type: Permanent
Location: Haslingden
Hours: Our core hours are 40 per week (Monday - Friday 8am - 5pm) with an requirement to work overtime when required. Our Service Technicians are also required to be available for any breakdowns and faults at the weekend, working on-call every 2nd or 3rd weekend (depending on the size of your team). Overtime is paid at time and a half, and you will receive an additional payment for the weekend you are on-call.
How can you make a difference?
As a Wind Turbine Service Technician, you will be responsible for the servicing and maintenance of Nordex wind turbines covering turbines around the Haslingden area. You will carry out general and specialised work including repairs, troubleshooting and fault-finding activities ensuring our wind turbines continue to achieve a high level of availability.
The ideal candidate will have experience of working in the Mechanical / Electrical industry and be able to demonstrate knowledge of reading electrical, hydraulic and mechanical diagrams. You will be mechanical or electrical trained through time-served or a technical college qualification which should be at least NVQ Level 3 or equivalent. You will be able to demonstrate you can identify and define problems, extract crucial information from technical data, and develop workable solutions to problems.
Essential skills and behaviours:
• Ability to adapt to an environment of continuous change and different challenges
• Positive attitude with a willingness to learn, lead and continuously improve
• Computer literate and confident in using MS Office packages, in-house databases and workload management systems
• This role involves working at heights up to 140m; you will need to be fit and pass a working at height test
• Occasional travel including nights away from home
• Full UK / EU Driving Licence required
