A residential special school in Great Yarmouth is seeking a Wellbeing and Learning Practitioner. The ideal candidate will support children with social, emotional, and mental health needs, develop their skills, and work collaboratively with staff. Contract: Permanent, Term Time + 1 week
Hours: 32.5 hours per week (Monday 8:30 am ‑ 3:30 pm, Tuesday 8:45 am ‑ 4:30 pm, Wednesday‑Friday 8:45 am ‑ 3:30 pm)
Salary: Scale D 5‑6 £25,583 – £25,989 per annum pro‑rata (Actual Salary £19,242 – £19,548)
We are looking for a dedicated and compassionate Wellbeing and Learning Practitioner to join a residential special school for boys aged 7‑16 with social, emotional, and mental health (SEMH) needs. This is a rewarding opportunity for someone who is passionate about supporting children with complex learning needs, behavioural challenges, and disrupted educational experiences.
As a Wellbeing and Learning Practitioner, you will help pupils develop academic, social, and emotional skills, while providing care, guidance, and structured support throughout the school day. You will work closely with teachers, support staff, and external professionals to ensure each pupil achieves their full potential.
The role is ideal for those who enjoy working in a nurturing and collaborative environment and want to make a real difference in the lives of children. There are opportunities to support pupils across primary and secondary age ranges, and additional hours may be available within the residential care team.
