Our stunning care home Cheadle Manor Care Centre, a purpose-built facility in the popular location of Cheadle village, Stockport, is registered to provide care to 68 residents with a variety of care needs including residential and nursing. The home reflects the New Care vision of providing the highest standards of safety, comfort and care. It meets all CQC requirements and provides safety, comfort and care to residents. We invest in the latest technology and offer a purposeful programme of daily activity and gentle exercise to enhance experience, care and wellbeing. All team members are hand selected for their warmth and passion, with a full induction and ongoing training from our in-house trainers in conjunction with the New Care Academy. The home is rated GOOD in all domains by CQC. New Care has had zero agency usage for over 4 years as we employ a permanent staff team to ensure continuity of care to residents from staff who know them and that residents know and trust. Across New Care all staff are paid at least the national minimum wage.

Role

Wellbeing Assistant – we are seeking to appoint a kind, enthusiastic and fun Wellbeing Assistant to join our team. You will contribute to the creation of a caring and inclusive culture around therapeutic activities in the home, and deliver and support the Wellbeing Coordinator in developing a programme that has a whole-team approach and forms a core part of the offering in the home. We have a 20-hour contract available with an excellent hourly rate of £12.21. Shift times are 10:00–15:00, with alternate weekend work; some flexibility in hours is required to meet the needs of the business.

Responsibilities
  • Contribute to the creation of ongoing weekly activity programmes that ensure a wide range of opportunities are available to stimulate the physical, mental and emotional wellbeing of all residents.
  • Provide an innovative programme so that residents can achieve extraordinary things, with their capabilities.
  • Motivate and guide other members of staff in the home to incorporate wellbeing and activity into their role wherever possible, with support and direction from the Wellbeing Coordinator.
  • Be familiar with a resident’s life story and Wellbeing and Activity plan for each resident and contribute to that plan and ensure it is regularly reviewed.
  • Ensure adequate and up-to-date risk assessments are in place for all events and activities planned and undertaken in liaison with the Wellbeing Coordinator.
  • Understand the needs of people with the various conditions residents have in the home.
  • Take responsibility for promoting and safeguarding the welfare of adults that the post holder is responsible for or comes into contact with.
