About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Welding & Fabrication Supervisor to oversee day-to-day welding and fabrication activities across workshop and site-based projects. This is a key leadership role supporting Management in delivering high standards of quality, safety, compliance, and operational efficiency within a fast-paced, responsive engineering environment.

You will be responsible for supervising employees and subcontractors, ensuring work is delivered safely, on time, within budget, and to the required technical and quality standards.

Key Responsibilities
  • Supervise and monitor employees and subcontractors to ensure compliance with quality, safety, and company procedures
  • Ensure work is completed in line with quoted hours, materials, consumables, and equipment allowances
  • Report job progress, risks, and issues to the Technical and/or General Manager
  • Ensure all projects have appropriate RAMS, including Take 5 documentation and permits to work, in place prior to commencement
  • Procure consumables, plant, and materials to maintain uninterrupted operations
  • Monitor staff timekeeping, behaviour, and conduct in accordance with company policies
  • Maintain high standards of housekeeping across workshops, stores, vehicles, and site locations
  • Assist in the control, traceability, and accountability of tools and equipment, reporting loss or damage as required
  • Remain contactable to support the emergency and responsive nature of the business, including on-call activities when required
  • Apply and uphold the Company's Integrated Management System (IMS) procedures
  • Travel to customer and site locations to survey works and support the quotation process
  • Undertake additional reasonable duties in support of business objectives
Skills, Qualifications & Experience
  • Minimum 5 years' experience within the marine or civil engineering industry
  • Proven experience supervising personnel and monitoring productivity and quality
  • Strong ability to read and interpret technical drawings, schematics, and specifications
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to engage effectively with staff, management, clients, and suppliers
  • Strong organisational skills and the ability to manage multiple priorities
  • A proactive, team-focused leader who can motivate and guide others
  • Willingness to travel as required
  • Full UK driving licence
Whats on offer

My client will consider either a permanent or long term contract appointment.

Permanent - Salary of £48,880 per annum, based on an hourly rate of £23.50
Overtime is paid at time and a half for all hours worked over 40 per week.

Contract - Rate of £28.50/h Umbrella company, applicable to all hours worked.
