Job summary

A skilled recruitment agency is seeking a Metal Fabricator/Welder to create high-quality acoustic enclosures. You will interpret engineering drawings, fabricate metal components, and ensure products meet specifications. Ideal candidates have proven experience in metal fabrication and strong mathematical skills. This fulltime position involves 40 working hours per week, Monday to Thursday 7am-4pm, and Friday 7am-1pm.

Thrive Personnel Ltd are seeking a skilled Metal Fabricator/Welder to create high-quality acoustic enclosures for our clients. The ideal candidate will be adept at interpreting engineering drawings and possess advanced knowledge of industrial metalwork. A keen eye for detail and excellent mathematical skills are essential for constructing products to exact specifications.

Responsibilities
  • Read and interpret engineering 2D & 3D drawings.
  • Measure and mark cutting and bending lines accurately.
  • Ensure all parts required for assembly are present.
  • Double-check design specifications before starting work.
  • Fabricate and construct metal components.
  • Grind and finish completed products to a high standard.
  • Perform quality checks on finished products.
  • Adhere to company Health & Safety regulations.
  • Complete quality check sheets thoroughly.
Requirements
  • Proven experience as a metal fabricator welder.
  • Experience working with mild steel, Zintec & galvanised sheet (0.9mm to 30mm).
  • Experience working with mild steel (2mm to 10mm).
  • Proficiency in operating an overhead crane is an advantage.
  • Welding experience/certification is an advantage.
  • In-depth knowledge of engineering design and manufacturing procedures.
  • Ability to interpret engineering 2D & 3D Drawings.
  • Proficiency with metal fabrication tools.
  • Strong mathematical and engineering skills.
  • Ability to lift and manipulate large metal objects.
  • Ability to stand for extended periods.
  • Working Hours: 40 hours per week, Monday to Thursday 7am-4pm, Friday 7am-1pm. Closed for Bank Holidays and a Christmas shutdown.
