Job summary

A leading recruitment consultancy is looking for a skilled welder in Newcastle upon Tyne. The role includes interpreting technical instructions, performing various welding techniques, and ensuring quality compliance. Responsibilities

  • Interpret technical work instructions and SOPs.
  • Cut, shape and assemble metal components using appropriate tools.
  • Perform MIG, TIG welding on a range of materials.
  • Understand and weld to WPS standards.
  • Prepare jigs and fixtures for complex assemblies.
  • Inspect finished products for accuracy and quality.
  • Ensure compliance with dimensional tolerances.
  • Follow all health and safety guidelines.
  • Maintain welding equipment and tools properly.
  • Work closely with engineers and manufacturing teams.
  • Assist in continuous improvement of welding processes.

Permanent

Package – Salary is £18.14 per hour
Monday to Thursday 07:00 until 16:45
Bonus up to £360 per quarter
25 days holiday plus bank holidays

Responsibilities
  • Interpret technical work instructions and SOPs
  • Cut, shape and assemble metal components using appropriate tools and machinery
  • Perform MIG, TIG weld on a wide range of materials
  • Understand, follow and weld to WPS
  • Prepare jigs and fixtures for complex assemblies
  • Inspect finished products for accuracy and quality
  • Ensure compliance with dimensional tolerances and welding codes
  • Follow all health and safety guidelines, risk assessments and SSOW
  • Maintain welding equipment and tools in good working condition
  • Work closely with engineers and manufacturing teams to meet project deadlines
  • Assist in continuous improvement initiatives for welding and fabrication processes
