Job Title: Welder Fabricator

Rate: £19.50 per hour

Job Type: Temp to Perm, Full Time

About the role

AMLR is working in partnership with a leading marine engineering company specialising in high-quality fabrication and machining services for the marine sector. With a reputation for excellence across a wide range of industries and international clients, they deliver bespoke fabrication, welding, and machining solutions to the highest standards.

An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced and versatile Welder/Fabricator to join their skilled team. The successful candidate will work both in the workshop and on-site, carrying out a variety of fabrication and welding tasks on materials ranging from 1mm to 75mm thick, including stainless steel, mild steel, and aluminium.

This is a hands‑on, varied role where no two days are the same, offering the chance to work on both high and low‑volume marine parts and vessels within a company known for its precision and craftsmanship.

Key Responsibilities
  • Carry out a range of fabrication and welding tasks both in the workshop and on‑site.
  • Work on high and low‑volume machining projects for marine parts and vessels.
  • Produce quality work to exacting standards, maintaining precision and accuracy.
  • Read and interpret technical engineering drawings confidently.
  • Work to precise tolerances, using hand measuring tools for accurate inspection.
  • Operate a variety of fabrication and workshop machinery safely and efficiently.
  • Maintain consistent quality control in line with BS EN 1090 and ISO 3834 standards.
  • Work independently or as part of a team to meet production and project deadlines.
Skills & Requirements
  • Minimum 5 years' experience as a fully qualified Fabricator/Welder.
  • Minimum 3 years' experience working within a marine environment/sector.
  • Recognised trade apprenticeship or relevant fabrication/welding qualification.
  • Strong understanding of fabrication and welding processes for stainless steel, mild steel, and aluminium.
  • Experience working to BS EN 1090 and ISO 3834 standards (highly advantageous).
  • Coded welder qualifications and Forklift licence are desirable.
  • Excellent attention to detail with strong communication and teamwork skills.
  • Punctual, professional, and proactive with a willingness to learn and develop.
