Overview

Recruit4staff are representing a well-established engineering business in their search for a Welder to work in Hebburn.

Job Details
  • Pay: £18.55 per hour (Overtime paid at £27.83 in the week, and £37.10 on Sundays)
  • Hours of Work: Core hours 37 hours per week, Day shift & night shifts available.
  • The current project is 57 hours per week, 37 hours at basic rate & everything else at enhanced overtime rates. (Current earning potential is circa £1250 per week)
    • Day Shift: 7am - 7pm Monday to Friday.
    • Night Shift: 7pm - 7am Monday to Friday.
    • Weekend work available.
  • Duration: Temporary (Long-term temporary role)

Job Role: As a Welder, you will be responsible for welding heavy gauge steel components using Flux Core and MIG welding techniques. The role includes interpreting engineering drawings, assembling structures using welding, bolts, or rivets, and performing vertical and overhead welds (butt and fillet). You\'ll also operate tools and machinery, ensuring high standards are met throughout.

Essential Skills, Experience, or Qualifications
  • Proven expertise in heavy gauge steel welding
  • Experienced in the Marine, Nuclear, Steel Fabrication, Off-shore, Petrochemical or Construction industries
  • Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings
Advantageous Skills, Experience, or Qualifications
  • City & Guilds/NVQ or equivalent in Fabrication or Welding
  • Experience of Flux Core welding
  • Previously coded in FCAW, MMA, or MIG welding
  • Experience in marine/ship repair & shipbuilding sector
Additional Information
  • All candidates must complete BPSS checks or show willingness to undergo the clearance process, and also gain SC clearance
