Job Title:

Welder (MIG / Fabrication)

Location:

Bury St Edmunds, Suffolk

Pay Rate:

£16.00 per hour

Hours:

Monday - Thursday (4-Day Week) | 07:00 - 16:45
Fridays: Available as overtime

Overview:

Stonetech are working with a well-established welding and fabrication contractor based in Bury St Edmunds. They support a wide range of customers across industries including construction, government, MOD, food and agriculture, delivering bespoke, varied fabrication projects.

Responsibilities:
  • Predominantly MIG welding
  • Reading and working from technical/engineering drawings
  • Fabricating independently to specification
  • Working with mild steel and stainless steel
  • Welding on materials ranging from 5mm - 20mm thickness
Operating equipment experience:
  • Brake press
  • Punch press
  • Guillotine
  • Other fabrication machinery
Candidate Requirements:
  • Be confident MIG welding and fabricating from drawings
  • Have experience working with a variety of materials and dimensions
  • Work well as part of a team and contribute to a positive workshop environment
  • Be flexible to support overtime during busy periods, including potential weekend work
  • Junior / trainee welders encouraged to apply, especially those who have recently completed a welding course or apprenticeship and are looking for their first role within engineering.
