Salary: £30,000 – £35,000 depending on experience

About the business

Our client is a well-established UK supplier of promotional merchandise and branded clothing, working with some of the country’s best-known organisations. As the business continues to grow, they are investing further in their digital capability and are now looking to add a Web Developer to their in-house team.

The role

This is an opportunity for a Web Developer who enjoys building, improving, and maintaining modern web platforms in a collaborative environment. You’ll work closely with designers and senior developers to support existing systems and contribute to new functionality across a range of web applications.

The role would suit someone with solid Laravel fundamentals and strong front-end skills who wants to continue developing their technical ability within a supportive, hands‑on team.

What you’ll be doing
  • Supporting the development and ongoing improvement of Laravel-based web applications
  • Writing clean, efficient, and maintainable code across HTML, CSS, and JavaScript
  • Working with designers to deliver responsive, accessible, and user-friendly websites
  • Assisting with the build and rollout of new features and enhancements
  • Debugging and resolving issues across different browsers and devices
  • Ensuring websites are fully responsive and cross-browser compatible
  • Taking part in code reviews and contributing to development standards
  • Collaborating with colleagues to deliver projects to agreed timelines
What we’re looking for
  • Practical experience with the Laravel framework (routes, controllers, middleware, Blade)
  • Strong grounding in HTML5, CSS3, and JavaScript
  • Experience working with WordPress
  • Familiarity with Git or other version control systems
  • Basic database knowledge (MySQL or similar)
  • Experience building responsive layouts using frameworks such as Bootstrap or Tailwind
  • A detail-focused approach with an emphasis on clean, readable code
  • Confident problem-solving and debugging skills
  • Basic image editing knowledge using Photoshop or similar tools
Desirable (but not essential)
  • Exposure to JavaScript libraries or frameworks such as Vue or React
  • Experience integrating or working with APIs
  • Knowledge of build tools or package managers (NPM, Webpack, etc.)
  • Awareness of SEO best practices
  • Experience testing across multiple browsers
  • Familiarity with Linux environments or WSL
