Job Title: Water Hygiene Engineer / Plumber

Location: Reading, London

Salary/Benefits: £25k – £38k DOE, including Training & Benefits

Overview: This small private company is eager to develop and further grow within the legionella compliance sector. They are seeking a Water Hygiene Engineer / Plumber who can start immediately with basic water hygiene duties such as acid descales and temperature monitoring. Candidates should hold plumbing qualifications and be able to undertake a range of remedial plumbing duties.

Travel: Applicants will be travelling to sites around London, Luton, Reading, Oxford, Southend-on-Sea, Chelmsford, Watford, Croydon, Slough, Crawley, Guildford, Basingstoke, Andover, Winchester, Maidstone, Enfield, Ilford, Salisbury, Swindon, Epsom, Kingston upon Thames, Hounslow, Southall, Wembley, Dartford, Bromley, Chatham, Basildon, Harlow, Hitchin, Aylesbury, Bishop’s Stortford, Royal Tunbridge Wells.

Experience / Qualifications
  • NVQ Level 2 or City & Guilds equivalent plumbing qualifications (advantageous).
  • Experience working as a Water Hygiene Engineer and remedial plumbing skills.
  • Knowledge of ACOP L8 and HSG 273 guidelines.
  • Ability to follow company procedures, meet targets and deadlines.
  • Proficient with IT software to produce reports.
  • Hardworking, keen to learn, initiates professional conversations with clients and offers technical knowledge.
The Role
  • Descales and disinfections.
  • Basic remedial plumbing (valve replacement, pipework installations).
  • Flushing and dead leg removals.
  • Water sampling.
  • Chlorinations.
  • Temperature monitoring.
  • Working on hot and cold-water storage tanks.
  • Servicing, replacing and repairing TMVs.
