Responsibilities

  • Carry out disinfection of mains water systems.
  • Monitor air and water systems for compliance.
  • Conduct onsite analysis and dosing of closed systems.
  • Perform cleaning and chlorination of water systems.
  • Conduct routine sampling and analysis of water systems.
  • Undertake maintenance and installation of dosing systems.
  • Work on cooling towers.
  • Maintain accurate paperwork including reports.
  • Build rapport with clients.
  • Perform remedial plumbing as required.

Job description

An outstanding water hygiene company providing a professional range of water treatment/hygiene and legionella service is currently recruiting an experienced and committed Water Hygiene Engineer based in and around the West Central London area. The successful postholder will be experienced in undertaking water hygiene duties such as routine temperature monitoring, cleaning/chlorination on hot and cold water systems. For the right candidate the company can offer training into closed systems analysis. Applications from Nottingham Hill, Ealing, Fulham, Hounslow and the surrounding areas will be considered.

Experience & Qualifications
  • Must come from a good educational, water hygiene/legionella, chemical and technical background.
  • Must be fully conversant with the ACOP L8 guidelines.
  • Previous hands on experience delivering water hygiene duties to a varied site base.
  • Previous experience undertaking remedial plumbing duties will be beneficial to this role.
  • Must have excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Proficient IT skills – including Microsoft Office.
Responsibilities within the role
  • Carrying out disinfection of mains water systems, tank cleans and descales, replacing tanks, remedial work, flushing systems, water softeners, etc.
  • Monitoring client’s air and water systems and ensuring compliance with current Health and Safety legislation.
  • Onsite analysis and dosing of closed systems.
  • Carrying out cleaning and chlorination on both hot and cold-water systems and cooling towers.
  • Carrying out temperature monitoring, conducting routine sampling and analysing water systems.
  • Undertaking maintenance and installation of dosing systems.
  • Undertaking works on Cooling towers
  • Submitting accurate paperwork including reports.
  • Building and maintaining a good rapport with the clients.
  • Carrying out remedial plumbing work as and when required.

The ideal candidate will demonstrate an excellent work ethic as well as the ability to work independently to agreed timescales and must be prepared to travel to designated sites as per client’s requirements.
