The Warehouse Supervisor oversees daily warehouse operations to ensure efficient receipt, storage, and dispatch of goods. This role is responsible for labour planning, coordinating workflow, leading warehouse staff, and supporting continuous improvement initiatives through data analysis and project execution. The Supervisor ensures compliance with safety standards, productivity goals, and service-level agreements.
Supervise daily warehouse activities including receiving, put-away, picking, packing, shipping, and inventory control.
Ensure timely and accurate order fulfillment in line with customer and business requirements.
Maintain high standards of warehouse cleanliness, organisation, and safety compliance.
Develop and manage daily and weekly labour plans based on forecasted volume, order profiles, and staffing levels.
Monitor team productivity and allocate resources to meet operational targets.
Track and approve employee hours, absences, and overtime; coordinate with HR and scheduling teams.
Support cross-training and skill development to enhance workforce flexibility and efficiency.
Lead and participate in warehouse improvement projects (layout optimisation, automation, process reengineering, sustainability, etc.).
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to implement new systems, tools, and processes.
Conduct root-cause analysis on operational issues and develop corrective action plans.
Support initiatives such as improving warehouse performance.
Monitor and analyse key performance indicators (KPIs) such as productivity, accuracy, cost per unit, on-time shipment, and inventory accuracy.
Prepare and present weekly / monthly reports to management with insights and recommendations.
Utilise Warehouse Management System, ERP, and data visualisation tools (Excel, Power BI, etc.) to track performance trends.
Identify data-driven opportunities to optimise labour efficiency, space utilisation, and throughput.
Supervise, motivate, and develop a team of warehouse associates and leads.
Conduct regular shift briefings, safety talks, and performance reviews.
Foster a positive and collaborative work environment that promotes accountability and continuous improvement.
