A leading logistics provider in Hull is seeking a Warehouse Shift Manager to lead warehouse operations at the AkzoNobel site in Goole. Responsible for managing a high-performing team, you will drive daily operations, ensuring safety standards are met and KPIs achieved. Previous management experience in a similar environment is essential. Competitive salary of up to £37,500 per annum plus a comprehensive benefits package included.

Job description
Overview

We are currently recruiting for a Warehouse Shift Manager to join our team at our AkzoNobel site in Goole. You'll be responsible for the warehouse function, managing your team and ensuring that all warehouse tasks are completed in line with company policies and customer requirements.

Responsibilities
  • Take full operational responsibility for the day to day running of the warehouse on your shift. Lead, motivate and develop your team to achieve challenging targets
  • Build an effective succession plan to empower the team and promote their skills within the company
  • Always ensure that H&S standards are met, and that all unsafe behaviours and practices are managed
  • Ensure daily / weekly / period KPIs are achieved for your team and warehouse function

Do you have previous warehouse management experience? Are you ready to take charge and lead a high-performing team in a fast-paced environment?

  • Previous management experience, ideally from working in a similar fast-moving and customer-focused environment
  • Ability to influence & deliver
  • An understanding of continuous improvement tools, health and safety, compliance, and employee relations
  • Experience in enforcing and promoting safety protocols in the warehouse
  • Proficiency in using warehouse management systems (WMS) and other relevant software
  • Excellent people management, coaching and influencing skills
  • Strong communication skills

Contract details

This is a full-time, fixed-term contract role ending 31st July 2026, working hours are Monday-Friday, 06:00 - 14:00 and 14:00-22:00 on a 2-weekly rotating basis. We’re looking to offer a salary of up to £37,500 per annum, and 25 days annual leave (plus bank holidays).
