Warehouse Operative - Despatch Loaders

Hours of Work

Monday to Friday, 2pm - 10pm. Total Hours Per Week: 40.

Introduction

An exciting opportunity to join our successful Superdrug Supply Chain team within our busy Distribution Centre. This vacancy is for the Savers DC, known as Stead House Distribution Centre, based in Darlington. Hours are predominantly as stated but flexibility across all shift patterns is required.

Role Purpose

The Warehouse Operative in the Dispatch area plays a key role in ensuring customer (store) orders are picked and loaded accurately, neatly, and safely to meet daily deadlines. A high level of numeracy is required for weighing during loading. This role reports to the Operations Team Leader at Stead House Distribution Centre.

Typical Daily Tasks

1. Loading and unloading cages daily.
2. Tracking cages in and out of the DC, including cage tracking on WMS.
3. Achieving daily/weekly work performance standards.
4. Maintaining excellent loading standards.
5. Ensuring loaded stock is clean and undamaged, reporting issues to your Line Manager.
6. Keeping the work area clean and tidy, practicing "Clean-As-You-Go," including spill cleanup, surface wiping, waste removal, and maintaining a safe, hazard-free environment.
7. Assisting the Operational Team with Health and Safety, reporting all incidents immediately.

Requirements

• Previous dispatch experience (not essential).
• Experience with barcode readers (HHT) is an advantage.
• Flexible in duties within the warehouse.
• High numeracy skills.
• Excellent attendance record.
• Ability to work independently and in a team.
• Strong health and safety awareness, adopting the "Always Safe at work" mindset.
