Job description

At Okarno we are looking for a Site Operator to join our friendly and dedicated Production & Warehouse team, helping to deliver high‑quality products to our customers safely and efficiently.

You’ll be working collaboratively but also independently, taking ownership of your work and bringing new ideas to improve how things are done. We’re looking for someone with a great work ethic who thrives in a busy environment and enjoys being part of a supportive, hardworking team.

Okarno is part of Saint‑Gobain UK & Ireland, one of the UK’s leading manufacturers and distributors of construction materials.

Shift Pattern
  • Monday – Thursday: 6am‑2pm / 2pm‑10pm
  • Friday: 6am‑1pm / 1pm‑8pm
Qualifications and Experience
  • Awareness of health and safety regulations and best practices within a warehouse or production environment
  • Experience and good understanding of warehouse operations and processes, including picking, loading and dispatch
  • Ability to perform physically demanding tasks, including lifting and moving heavy items
  • Comfortable using warehouse technology and standard equipment – experience with FLT (Counterbalance, PPT, Flexi Combi Lift) is advantageous but not essential
  • Basic IT skills including familiarity with Microsoft Excel and Outlook; experience with SAP or other WMS systems would be beneficial
Responsibilities
  • Picking, loading and stacking products within the production and warehouse areas
  • Operating standard equipment and warehouse machinery safely and efficiently
  • Managing incoming and outgoing deliveries – ensuring products are loaded accurately and safely
  • Conducting basic maintenance checks and supporting routine housekeeping to maintain a safe, clean, and organised site
  • Supporting operational processes such as inventory checks, packing, and documentation to ensure accuracy and compliance
