Job description
Overview

We are currently recruiting talented Inspection Warehouse Operatives to join our team at the DEFRA site in Sevington, Ashford. Full time on-going work 4on4off rota, both day & night shifts available. Days - £12.81ph, Nights - £14.09ph with overtime paid 1.5x.

Responsibilities
  • Loading and unloading lorries including manual handling, using roller cages and other MHE
  • Undertaking manual and/or electronic reporting requirements as requested
  • Take instruction from our on-site partners to support the inspection process
  • Updating the PINC Yard Management System following training
  • Carry out operational tasks to achieve departmental and site objectives
  • Maintain the inspection environment following training
  • COSHH Awareness following training
  • Assist drivers locating bays, support drivers in direction to bays and offices
  • Champion a health and safety culture
The ideal candidate will have
  • Logistics experience in a large fast-moving environment
  • Strong warehouse system experience
  • A strong knowledge of Health & Safety at work
  • Experience of working to agreed targets
  • Intermediate PC Skills: Excel, Word, Outlook
  • Understanding of warehouse practices e.g. picking, loading
  • Forklift roles available too!
Conditions
  • Shift patterns will be 4 on / 4 off – 12hrs per day
  • Days and nights available 6am-6pm/6pm-6am
  • Weekly or monthly pay available
To be eligible you need
  • NO unspent convictions and be able to pass a basic Criminal Record Check/Disclosure (DBS check)
  • Ability to provide 3 years referencing contacts and have been resident in the UK for the last 5 years.
  • The right to work in the UK
