Overview

Start Date: On or after 1st August 2025

Job Title: Ward Receptionist

Department: Endoscopy

Site: Louth Hospital

Hours: 1x37.5 + 1x30 or 2x22.5 hour posts

Working days: To be discussed at interview

(Flexible working can be considered between the hours of 08.00 - 18.00)

Salary: Band 2

Contract Type: Fixed term - 12 months

The Endoscopy Unit performs a variety of standard and advanced Endoscopic procedures for out-patients and in-patients including gastroscopy, sigmoidoscopy, colonoscopy, bronchoscopy, percutaneous endoscopic gastroscopy (PEG) insertion, oesophageal stenting and ERCP (endoscopic retrograde cholangio-pancreatography). Other specialist work is undertaken by individual consultants. The units aim to operate seven days a week from 08:00 to 20:00, providing high standards of care with privacy and dignity at all times.

Reporting to the Endoscopy Support Manager, the successful candidate will meet and greet patients on arrival, prepare paperwork for appointments, and provide a professional, confidential administrative function to the Endoscopy Unit. Duties will include booking new and follow-up appointments for Urology patients; training will be provided.

There may be occasions when there is a need to travel Trust-wide to cover other sites.

Responsibilities
  • Meet and greet patients on arrival and prepare paperwork for appointments.
  • Provide professional, comprehensive administrative support to the Endoscopy Unit.
  • Book new and follow-up appointments for Urology patients; training will be provided.
  • Travel to other Trust sites as required.
Qualifications and Skills
  • Excellent interpersonal skills.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to work under pressure and to meet deadlines.
  • Experience with Medway training and knowledge of Endoscopy units would be a benefit but is not essential.
