A community service organization is seeking Volunteer Mentors to provide one-on-one support to individuals on probation in the South West region. This role involves offering practical and emotional support, helping participants build confidence, and assisting with navigating resources. Ideal candidates are passionate about making a difference and have strong communication skills. Volunteers will receive comprehensive training and gain valuable experience in community service.
Join us as a Volunteer Mentor within our Communities and Education Division. We are looking for individuals passionate about making a difference in the community to support resettlement and reintegration outcomes for participants on probation. Volunteers provide personalised, one-to-one support to participants, helping them build confidence, manage housing and budgeting needs, explore employment opportunities, and overcome social isolation. You’ll connect participants with support agencies and encourage self-worth and community reintegration.
We welcome volunteers from all walks of life to reflect the diversity of the communities we serve. If you have lived experience of the Criminal Justice System and are ready to give back, we especially encourage you to apply. Eligibility criteria apply, for example being substance free for six months and actively taking responsibility for past behaviour. You must be over 18 to volunteer. In return, you’ll gain valuable experience, ongoing training, and the chance to make a real impact in someone’s life.
In return for your dedication, knowledge, and commitment, we offer an amazing training programme to prepare you for the role. This comprises online and classroom training on safeguarding, mental health awareness, and related topics.
