Job summary

A reputable recovery service in Cambridge is looking for volunteers to join their Peer Mentor team. Ideal candidates have lived experience of drug and alcohol recovery and homelessness and can commit at least 8 hours a week. Your role would include supporting people in recovery, assisting with group sessions, and providing a welcoming environment for those in treatment. This position requires you to be 18 or older and is subject to a DBS check.

• demonstrating visible recovery and acting as a positive role model as you support people in recovery and the wider service
• supporting our reception, playing a vital role in helping people coming into treatment to feel welcome and safe
• assisting with the delivery of recovery group sessions
• helping out with day-to-day tasks within the service
• offering a listening ear and ad hoc support to people using our services
• helping us in promoting the service
