Overview
The role of a videoDoc Doctor (Convenient Care Doctor) is to provide high-quality, safe, compassionate and efficient care to meet the needs of patients through online consultations. You will contribute towards a positive patient and clinician experience on videoDoc / Vhi Online Doctor (where applicable). You will report directly to the Chief Operating Officer and Medical Director.
Responsibilities
- Provide video / audio consultations and respond to health and wellbeing needs of our patients.
- Exercise good clinical judgement and put patient safety first in the management of patients on the telehealth platform.
- Ensure telehealth is appropriate and safe; if a physical examination may provide additional information, advise the patient and refer appropriately.
- Follow videoDoc’s clinical guidelines and work within the scope of service, while keeping best practice in mind.
- Inform each patient of the limitations of telehealth, relevant safety netting, red flags and follow-ups (if required) for every consultation.
- Attend and participate in fortnightly clinical meetings and ad hoc as required.
- Ensure case notes comply with best practice, with extra annotation for the safe provision of telemedicine.
- If a patient does not have a primary GP, recommend that they register with one as per relevant Medical Council guidelines.
- Aim for consultation and discharge times similar to general practice (e.g., 15 minutes).
- Present patients with a satisfaction survey at the end of each consultation and strive for the highest standard in feedback.
- Collaborate with the Chief Operating Officer and Medical Director on all aspects of clinical quality.
- Participate in training related to the digital interface and safety features of digital consultations.
- Provide evidence of continuing medical education.
- Stay up to date with medical developments, new drugs, treatments and medications.
- Maintain confidentiality and impartiality at all times.
- Perform ad hoc non-clinical tasks as required and advocate for telehealth and best practice.

Required Skills & Qualifications
- A minimum of 3 – 5 years working in general practice.
- A member of the ICGP and/or RCGP, or member of a recognised College of General Practitioners.
- A minimum of 3 years on the specialist registrar (where applicable).
- Registered with the General Medical Council (Essential if based in the UK).
- Registered with the Irish Medical Council (Essential if based in Ireland).
- PLAB (Professional and Linguistic Assessments Board) qualification (Desirable).
- Current and up-to-date training on safeguarding of vulnerable adults and children (Desirable).
- Excellent English verbal and written communication skills.
- Strong IT skills, organized, detail-oriented, accurate and thorough.
- A passion for providing healthcare in new and innovative ways.
- DBS or Garda Vetting will be essential for this role.
