Job summary

A regional police force in Bournemouth is seeking a Victims and Witnesses Care Manager to ensure seamless support for victims throughout investigations. You will manage engagement with victims, adhering to the Victims Code of Practice, and liaise with various agencies to facilitate effective trials. This is a temporary position lasting until July 2027, offering a salary of £27,204 rising to £29,859. Flexible working arrangements are welcomed.

Job description

Salary: £27,204 rising to £29,859 per annum + Excellent Benefits including Government Pension

Location: Bournemouth Police Station (OC)

Closing Date: 5 January 2026 , Midday

Hours per week: this role is 37 hours per week. However, we welcome applications from individuals wishing to work on a part-time basis and we are willing to consider flexible working patterns subject to business need.

About the role:

To provide a single point of contact (SPOC) for victims and witnesses ensuring a professional, and seamless support service from the first point of contact through to the conclusion of an investigation and outcome at court.

To manage and engage with victims and witnesses throughout the investigation at key stages in line with the Victims Code of Practice (VCoP), identifying those victims entitled to an enhanced service. To Facilitate liaison between victims and witnesses, Dorset Police, Crown Prosecution Service (CPS), His Majesty’s Court Tribunal Service (HMCTS) and support agencies to ensure effective trials.

To maintain performance and timeliness in line with both local and national standards are consistently met and complied with, in line with the Victims and Prisoners Bill and VCoP.
