Vice President, Financial Modeller/Engineer
Location: Manchester, UK.
Responsibilities:
- Lead the development of statistical, financial, and econometric models for asset performance, client reference data, securities data, derivative pricing, and risk exposure.
- Provide analytical and project leadership, independently conducting advanced financial analyses.
- Collaborate with management to develop and implement techniques and methodologies for various activities and analyses.
- Lead modelling projects and mentor less experienced colleagues.
- Utilise SQL, querying and macro development to extract data and populate models; perform light programming or system configuration as needed.
- Select and evaluate appropriate technologies for modelling and analysis.
- Support assessment of performance, risk or valuation.
- Lead complex projects with cross‑functional or enterprise‑wide impact.
- Interpret findings, prepare standard and ad‑hoc reports, deliver results and recommendations to management.
- Translate complex technical concepts to non‑technical audiences.
- Review accuracy of reports and calculations by juniors.
- Provide work oversight and input into performance assessments for junior analysts (no formal supervisory responsibility).
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent education and experience.
- Strong analytical and project leadership skills.
- Proficiency in Excel formulas and VBA.
- Proficiency in MS Access, SQL and VBA.
- Knowledge of PowerApps, T‑SQL, VB.NET, PowerShell and Python programming is a plus.
