Veterinary Surgeon – Middlesbrough (Part-Time)
Our client is a remarkable charity providing expert veterinary care to people across the UK who would otherwise be unable to afford treatment for their pets. Their mission truly matters: they deliver compassionate, pragmatic care with a focus on positive clinical outcomes and measurable impact rather than rigid targets.
The charity is seeking a qualified Veterinary Surgeon to join its modern Middlesbrough Pet Hospital on a permanent, part-time basis (22.5 hours per week, worked as 7.5-hour days with a one-hour lunch).
The position offers a balanced mix of surgical and consulting duties and involves a varied caseload with a high number of emergency cases. There is no routine out-of-hours work, apart from a Saturday morning emergency clinic (8 a.m.–12 p.m.) that is shared equally among the current team of seven vets. No bank holiday cover is required.
This is an exciting opportunity for a vet who thrives on variety and is confident managing a wide range of cases. Excellent communication skills are essential, along with the ability to lead by example and share expertise with colleagues.
The successful candidate will:
The Middlesbrough hospital is well equipped with separate dog and cat kennels, in-house radiography, ultrasound, endoscopy, piped gases and extensive orthopaedic equipment. Recognised as one of the UK’s Top 25 Big Organisations to Work For by the Best Companies survey, this charity is committed to creating a workplace where people feel connected, valued and able to make a real difference.
This is a unique opportunity to join a purpose-driven organisation that changes lives every day—for pets, their owners and the veterinary professionals who care for them.
Interested candidates are encouraged to apply and discuss flexible working arrangements to fit their lifestyle.
