Miller & Swann Elgin are opening a Veterinary Surgeon role on a maternity cover basis. You will join a friendly team of veterinary surgeons, registered veterinary nurses, receptionists and administrative staff dedicated to delivering the best clinical care to patients and clients. We are an RCVS-accredited general practice in the heart of Elgin, Morayshire.
This is a full-time maternity cover position on a 4-day per week rota, including 1 night on call per week and 1 weekend per month.
The successful Veterinary Surgeon will have access to Vet Oracle, a digital teleservices platform led by veterinary specialists and referral clinicians who provide interpretations and clinical advice in disciplines including medicine, radiology, cardiology, dermatology, oncology, neurology, ophthalmology and dentistry. You will work with a well-equipped practice and a busy, varied caseload, with opportunities to develop clinical and non-clinical skills, including self-leadership, teamwork, wellbeing, resilience and business.
Salary up to £60,000 per annum, dependent on experience, plus a range of benefits. For vets relocating, a relocation allowance is available.

Elgin lies on the south coast of the Moray Firth in Scotland, roughly midway between Inverness and Aberdeen. Known as the “whiskey region”, the area features local distilleries, cathedrals and beaches with easy access to Cairngorms and major cities. Elgin offers regular trains and driving routes, with a convenient commute to nearby attractions and amenities.
