A prominent automotive recruitment consultancy in Canterbury is looking for a qualified Vehicle Technician. The role offers a basic salary of £34,060 plus guaranteed bonuses and overtime. The ideal candidate will have a strong knowledge of mechanical repairs, diagnostics systems, and at least two years of workshop experience. Qualifications

  • Full UK Driving Licence is required.
  • MOT Licence (Class IV) is advantageous.

£34,060 basic, plus bonus - Guaranteed minimum bonus of £150 monthly for 12 months

Monday – Friday 8am – 17:30pm with 30-minute lunch, 1 in 2 Saturdays 8am - 1pm, Paid additionally at £120 each

Our client, a volume dealer group in the Canterbury area of Kent is looking to recruit a Vehicle Technician to join their busy workshop team. The basic salary on offer is £30,940, plus Saturdays paid as overtime which will work out to around £34,000 and bonus. Experience in working on LCVs would be advantageous but not essential.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Repairing and servicing of motor vehicles as instructed.
  • Being able to work to a time schedule whilst ensuring the highest standards of workmanship.
  • Complete write-up of work required and work carried out on the job card.
  • To be competent and confident in diagnosing faults with all makes/models.
  • Ensuring your work space is clean and safe.
  • Be prepared to attend internal and external training as and when required.
  • Maintain a professional manner and behaviour.
  • Be comfortable working under pressure and to tight timescales.
  • Have the ability to work as part of a team.

You must have:

  • A strong knowledge of mechanical repairs and diagnostics.
  • Organisational ability.
  • A high-level of knowledge using diagnostic systems and equipment.
  • A good approach to customer service

Qualifications / Experience required:

  • Level 3 NVQ in Motor Vehicle Mechanics.
  • Full UK Driving Licence.
  • Minimum of 2 years experience in a workshop environment.
  • MOT Licence (Class IV) would be an advantage.
