Vehicle Technician

Pertemps are currently recruiting for an experienced Motor Mechanic to join a well-established and expanding used car dealership and service centre based in Swindon.

If you're passionate about cars, have a keen eye for detail, and want to work in a friendly, customer-focused environment, this could be the perfect opportunity for you.

Responsibilities
  • Diagnosing faults: Use diagnostic tools and mechanical knowledge to identify and assess issues with engines, brakes, transmissions, electrical systems, and other vehicle components.
  • Carrying out repairs: Undertake a range of repair work, from standard maintenance tasks like oil changes and brake replacements to more complex jobs such as engine or transmission repairs.
  • Routine servicing: Conduct regular maintenance checks, including fluid inspections, tyre rotations, filter changes, and brake assessments to ensure vehicles run safely and efficiently.
  • Accurate documentation: Keep clear and detailed service records, including any parts replaced and recommendations for future work.
  • Team collaboration: Work closely with colleagues in the workshop and service team while maintaining excellent health and safety standards.
Qualifications
  • Previous experience as a Motor Mechanic or in a similar role.
  • Strong understanding of vehicle systems and the ability to diagnose and resolve faults effectively.
  • Confident using a variety of hand and power tools.
  • Relevant qualifications in automotive technology are beneficial but not essential.
  • Great attention to detail and a passion for delivering top-quality workmanship.
