Qualifications

Job description

We have an exciting opportunity for a self-motivated individual to join the Engineering Team as a fully skilled Heavy Goods Vehicle Maintenance Technician based at our Vehicle Maintenance Unit in Enfield.

As a Vehicle Technician, you will maintain FedEx Assets' safety and reliability by performing service and maintenance of the company fleet of vehicles and trailers in line with planned maintenance schedules. Ensuring that the fleet is safe, legal and fit for duties.

Working hours

40 hours per week

Shift: 08:30 - 17:00, Monday to Friday

Salary: Base pay £17.25 per hour. Premium paid for hours worked between 7pm - 10pm (£1.85 per hour), and 10pm - 6am (£2.24 per hour).

Responsibilities
  1. Completion of signed service and inspection records
  2. Completion of defect reports and associated paperwork to comply with legal requirements
  3. Prepare vehicles and trailers for annual MOT testing to ensure first-time pass
  4. Perform ad-hoc vehicle repairs, investigating and rectifying vehicle defects
  5. Ensure the correct and effective safe use of all tools, plant and ancillary equipment
  6. Maintain good housekeeping standards and carry out any other duties deemed reasonable by management
Qualifications
  1. Fully skilled with applicable licenses/vocational training (e.g., LGV C&E license)
  2. City & Guilds parts 1 & 2 or equivalent in commercial vehicle repairs
  3. Knowledge of automotive equipment and testing/troubleshooting equipment
  4. Ability to lift and manoeuvre heavy vehicle components
  5. Experience with welding and basic D.C. electrical troubleshooting skills
  6. Valid driving license
  7. Previous experience in a similar role
