Bolton Council is seeking Vehicle Maintenance Technicians to join our dedicated team responsible for maintaining the council fleet. This is an excellent opportunity to work in a supportive environment where your skills will help keep essential services running smoothly. This post is a designated customer facing role under the fluency duty and requires a specified level of spoken English as per the person specification.
Valid Current category B driving licence, City and Guilds Level 3 Motor Vehicle Studies (Light and Heavy Goods Vehicles) or equivalent qualification (NVQ) Level 3 Light and/or Heavy Goods Vehicles. We re looking for experienced and motivated technicians with a passion for delivering high-quality work who enjoy working as part of a team and take pride in keeping the fleet mobile and operational.
Experience of working on a variety of vehicles with good diagnostic and problem-solving skills is key, with a minimum of 2 years experience as a Motor Vehicle Technician and proven experience of MOT preparation and knowledge of MOT testing standards (HGV/PCV vehicles).
You ll be an effective member of the team who takes pride keeping the fleet mobile and operational. Good written and oral communication skills, as well as having a proactive approach to Health and Safety guidelines and regulations is essential.
You ll be required to have a flexible approach to working hours and be able to cover different shift patterns over the working week (Monday to Friday).
