Job summary

A vehicle maintenance company is seeking a Vehicle Maintenance Technician based in Coventry. The successful candidate will maintain and repair the fleet of vehicles, ensuring they meet safety standards. Requirements include education in Mechanical Engineering and prior HGV Mechanic experience. This role requires working independently and as part of a team. The position offers a competitive salary with overtime pay and benefits including 25 holidays plus bank holidays.

Job Title: VMT (Vehicle Maintenance Technician)

Area: Leicester

Shift Pattern: Monday to Friday (Days) Back Shift Mon to Fri 11am till 10pm

Permanent

Salary: £43,108 PA Basic, £19.51 PH Overtime Extra at X1.5

Holidays: 25 days plus Bank Holidays, increasing per year worked

Responsibilities

As a VMT you will be responsible for carrying out general maintenance and repair work on the company's fleet of vehicles and trailers, ensuring that all vehicles are in safe working order.

Your role requires you to execute repairs to the highest standards while conducting in-depth engineering work and diagnostics.

You should be able to work effectively both independently and as part of a close-knit team.

Its crucial that all repairs are performed in accordance with current Health and Safety legislation and company policies.

Additionally, you will need to safely operate all relevant equipment, machines, and tools, and complete all associated documentation accurately and in a timely manner.

Key Skills & Knowledge

The ideal candidate should hold education to City & Guilds standard in Mechanical Engineering or possess an equivalent engineering discipline.

Previous experience as an HGV Mechanic in a similar role is essential.

While it is preferable to hold an HGV C+E licence (Class 1) and a current ADR, these are not mandatory.
