Recruitment Solutions (NW) are working with our Client in Bury – due to the acquisition of a new Group Company they are looking to appoint a VAT – Accounts Assistant.

THE ROLE OF THE VAT – ACCOUNTS ASSISTANT

Will report to the Finance Controller – your role will be to prepare / submit and reconcile VAT returns. The role will combine general Accounts preparation and VAT Preparation and Submission.

  • Preparing VAT Returns – collate Sales and Purchase Invoices to calculate VAT – experience of Xero / Sage or QuickBooks will be needed
  • Submitting Returns – digital Filing of VAT Returns
  • Reconciling Accounts – on a regular basis across the VAT Control Accounts – matching Returns to Bank Statements
  • Maintaining Records – to create and maintain a clear Audit Trail
  • Query Management – from Clients / Suppliers and HMRC
  • Assisting with Audits – preparing Files and Documents for annual Financial and Tax Audits
  • General Accounts support – processing Invoices – Sales and Purchase Ledgers / Assisting with Payroll and supporting Month and Year End

The role of the VAT – Accounts Assistant role is for a character who is detail orientated – who is numeric and analytical and who is highly organized.
