Heritage Collections is looking for a Collections Management Technician for its expanding Conservation & Collections Management team.

The Opportunity:

This is an exciting opportunity for someone aspiring to develop a career in archives and library management. The post holder will work with the Appraisal Archivist and Archives Collections Manager to deliver appraisal and archival collections management activities within a dynamic and supportive environment. The post holder will collaborate closely with Heritage Collections colleagues as part of the holistic acquisition, appraisal, preservation, cataloguing, and access process for the University’s physical and digital archival collections.

Your skills and attributes for success:
  • Knowledge of archive collections management practices and procedures; an understanding of current professional best practice
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills, including strong team-working skills
  • Ability to organise and deliver work within agreed timescales to a high level of accuracy
  • Excellent manual dexterity for the appropriate handling of collections
  • Flexible approach to changing tasks, work environment, and working practices
