Job summary

A leading non-profit organization in London is seeking a Women's Rights Advocacy Adviser to develop advocacy strategies and influence women's rights policies. The ideal candidate will have strong lobbying skills and a good understanding of the UK political system. This is a full-time, 7 months fixed term contract role offering a chance to make a positive impact on women's rights.

HOURS: Full-time
CONTRACT: 7 months fixed term contract
LOCATION: London EC1R 0BJ

From development finance and biofuels to tax justice and women’s rights, ActionAid is playing a major role in influencing international development issues. As part of the global ActionAid family, you will be working to build a fair and just world where everyone can claim their rights in an organisation which works with local people in more than 45 countries to end violence against women, increase women’s access to justice, advance women’s reproductive rights, promote women’s political participation, hold companies and governments to account and help communities cope with emergencies.

Join us as Women’s Rights Advocacy Adviser and develop innovative advocacy strategies that position ActionAid UK as a leading organisation in the field of women’s rights and help bring about positive change.

You will build relationships with national and international influencers, develop policy positions as well as ensure that policy work is communicated effectively.

You will develop excellent contacts across relevant national and international institutions, political stakeholders and key country programmes to maximise advocacy and lobbying opportunities. You will also have the opportunity to support fundraising activities, influence media messages and build alliances with other potential partners.

A good understanding of the UK political system and a record of successful lobbying within it is essential.
