Overview

Wealth Management (WM) Platforms manages industry-leading platforms across all WM channels and client segments, providing a unified digital experience, unlocking growth, and delivering efficiencies for Advisors, Clients, and Institutions. WM Platforms consists of nine sub‑teams: Field Experience & Platforms, Digital Client Experience & Platforms, Workplace Platforms, Automation & Workflow Solutions, Digital Trading & Investing, UX Design & Research, Strategy & Execution, Business Control & Support, and the Chief Operating Office. The Morgan Stanley Wealth Management UX team builds digital experiences that help our clients manage their finances and monitor their investments easily on the Morgan Stanley and E platforms.

Responsibilities
  • As an SME in multiple domains, partner with Domain Leads and POs to create a cohesive experience within various products across the domain and be involved in every step of the end‑to‑end product design process.
  • Understand the underlying needs and motivations of our clients to ensure we achieve business goals and provide value to our clients.
  • Provide design solutions for content‑focused experiences for research content consumers, as well as the wide range of content authoring tools, data analysis tools, with and without AI enablement.
  • Independently and collaboratively seek to learn about the business domain and users.
  • Work both independently and with our research team to synthesize qualitative and quantitative data and make value‑driven design decisions that translate into clear, simple UIs.
  • Craft intuitive and elegant experiences that empower our clients to make confident financial decisions.
  • Create and present a variety of design deliverables (research, ideas and sketches, wireframes, user flows and prototypes) to engender confidence in you and your solutions with the team and the greater organization.
  • Form holistic solutions that integrate seamlessly into our wealth management product ecosystem.
  • Design and deliver responsive/adaptive solutions that are optimized for web and mobile interfaces and partner with engineers to translate designs into successful products.
  • Champion measuring the impact of change with quantitative and qualitative data to support data‑driven decision making.
  • Work closely with the larger Wealth Management UX team to share design best practices, align on patterns, and promote a design‑centric culture at the firm.
  • Advocate for all user abilities by thoroughly testing design deliverables to meet WCAG ADA compliance. If this role is deemed a Certified role, the holder may need to possess mandatory regulatory qualifications or internal company benchmarks.
Qualifications
  • You have an outstanding portfolio that demonstrates how you have created experiences that solved business and user needs.
  • You've spent 3‑5 years as a UX designer who was a key contributor to the success of products that have launched.
  • You have a bachelor’s degree in design or a related field (master’s degree a plus).
  • You have excellent skills in Figma.
  • You have experience designing intuitive interfaces that enhance user experience and drive customer engagement.
  • You can leverage research, wireframes, and prototypes to effectively validate and enhance your design concepts to achieve the best possible solutions for your users.
  • You thrive in a collaborative, explorative environment and value being on a diverse team to brainstorm and get feedback from within a large organization.
  • You practice active listening and contribute in group situations, such as brainstorms, audits, critiques, and whiteboard sessions.
  • You get excited by complex projects with high levels of ambiguity and are resilient in the face of obstacles.
