Overview

Utilities Surveyor – Permanent position based in the East Midlands with remote and site-based work split.

Location: Rugby, East Midlands – Remote and Site Based. Salary: Negotiable DOE. Benefits include flexible working, overtime, fuel card, and a pool vehicle (van).

A fantastic opportunity has arisen for one of the fastest-growing multi-disciplinary surveying practices in the UK. The company provides specialist surveying services to architects, planning consultants, utility companies, government agencies, engineers, ecologists, and various other construction-related professionals. Work spans across architecture planning, retail, commercial & facilities management, infrastructure & highways, and construction & civil engineering sectors. The role involves delivering accurate underground utility surveys to support major infrastructure and development schemes across the UK.

The role will be a mix of site, remote working, and office-based activities.

Responsibilities
  • Conduct utility surveys using Ground Penetrating Radar (GPR) and Electro-Magnetic Locators (EML).
  • Produce detailed utility mapping drawings and reports for clients.
  • Ensure compliance with industry standards and health & safety regulations.
  • Maintain and calibrate survey equipment to required standards.
  • Liaise with clients and project managers to deliver projects on time and within scope.
Experience & Qualifications
  • Proven experience in utility surveying using GPR and EML techniques.
  • Strong knowledge of PAS128 standards and utility mapping methodologies.
  • Proficiency in survey software and CAD for producing utility drawings.
  • Excellent communication and organisational skills with willingness to travel.
  • Relevant experience in Utilities Surveying or Utility Mapping or Surveying.
  • Full UK Driving License.
