The role will involve working from our Head Office in Chippenham and your allocated Urgent Care base in Wiltshire.

Previous experience of working within an operational role within a healthcare setting is desired.

About The Role

The Urgent Care Base Team Lead plays a pivotal role in providing a professional and responsive central point of reference to health and social care professionals, as well as carrying out other support functions as directed by the Urgent Care teams at both the Call Centre and OOH bases.

Working as a single point of contact for health and social care professionals, you will provide guidance and assistance to achieve the required outcome for our patients and clients. You will support the Urgent Care Team in providing a quality and professional interface between external and internal stakeholders in the delivery of our services along with ensuring our bases are fully maintained and quality checks are completed and documented to ensure compliance.

Please note that as our operation runs around the clock, 365 days/year, you'll need to bring a flexible approach to working hours as our rolling shift patterns include days/weekends, overnights and Bank Holidays. (The set shift pattern is available on request and can be discussed further at the interview stage).

Day to day, your duties will include but not be limited to:

  • Line management of the Urgent Care team at your designated base in Wiltshire
  • Management of medication stock and medical equipment, undertaking spot audits as and when required
  • Ensuring fleet vehicles are regularly checked, with medication and consumables being adequately stocked and replenished, following company process and procedure.
  • Working in conjunction with relevant company policy to arrange the delivery of medications on both a regular and ad-hoc basis
  • Supporting and supervising all members of the Urgent Care team in delivering a high-quality service to patients
  • Assist in the recruitment of new employees across the IUC Service, to include interviewing, induction and training
  • Guiding and advising health and social care professionals through the process of achieving the required outcomes for their patients/clients
  • Liaising with allied health and social care agencies to facilitate the patient/client journey through the HealthHero Integrated Care service or direction to appropriate alternative service
  • Supervising HealthHero Integrated Care operational teams and acting as the first point of reference to resolve issues that may occur during the shift
  • Management of medication stock and medical equipment, ensuring fleet vehicles are adequately stocked
About You

The ideal candidate will be able to demonstrate:

  • An ability to work autonomously and flexibly to assist both external and internal stakeholders in achieving the outcome of outstanding patient care for our Urgent Care service
  • A focus on service delivery at all times especially during unpredictable workloads
  • Experience of analysing and reviewing data and procedures such as Standard Operating Procedures and monthly reporting
  • A strong ability to converse with members of the HealthHero Integrated Care team at all levels
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills
  • High levels of attention to detail, accuracy and consistent follow through
  • A good working knowledge of MS Office suite
