The UK Risk Manager will oversee risk management processes and ensure compliance within the Energy & Natural Resources industry. This role is based in Leeds and requires a strategic thinker who can evaluate and mitigate risks effectively.

Description
- Managing stakeholder expectations (both within Group and externally with Joint Venture partners) through regular communications including face-to-face meetings with internal and external audit, regulators and other relevant third parties.
- Ensuring that risk is managed and reported consistently both internally and to the company's shareholders, and that it complies with the businesses global practices.
- Specifying and maintaining procedures to ensure that the risk in the UK is effectively managed, and ensuring that suitably-trained personnel are in place to carry out the required activities.
- Working with senior management at UK each entity to ensure that all areas are compliant with UK and Group Internal Control policies and procedures
Profile
A successful UK Risk Manager should have:
- Detailed understanding of the techniques used for risk measurement, management and control.
- Detailed understanding of risk management systems and their operation.
- An understanding of option pricing theory, and the ability to develop and independently validate complex pricing models.
- Detailed understanding of the UK electricity and gas markets.
- Solid understanding of Credit Management
- In-depth understanding of Value-at-Risk and other risk metrics
- Understanding of and commitment to the aims of the Group.
- Manage the relationship between the UK and the business functions operating within the country, ensuring that transparency is maintained between the Global Business Units (GBUs), the Regional/Country structure and Group.
- The role will also coordinate the quarterly UK Local Energy Management Committee (LEMC), provide a consolidated view of risks, promote cross-GBU synergies and portfolio effects and sharing of good practices across the UK.
Job Offer
The UK Risk Manager will receive;
- An annual salary of approximately £80,000 - £110,000, depending on experience.
- Employer pension contribution of 8-12%, based on employee contributions.
- Performance bonus of up to 15% of salary.
