Calling all CAD/M Computer Aided Design/Manufacturing specialists! Are you a professional CAD draughts person, or a production/manufacturing engineer with CAD/CAM experience, or an engineering CAD/CAM tutor and looking for a new challenge? Are you looking for an exciting and rewarding role where you could be developing the skills, knowledge and professional behaviors of our future engineering workforce? We are seeking a dynamic, inspirational and enthusiastic individual who would relish the opportunity to share their knowledge, skills and experience with students and apprentices, teaching a range of CAD/CAM/Manufacturing & Production type units across Level 2, 3 (& 4) programmes including apprenticeship standards. This is a rewarding role working with a broad range of students and apprentices, predominantly across Level 2 & 3 programmes, to develop their 2D & 3D CAD & CAM skills (e.g. AutoCAD, Solidworks, Fusion 360, CNC Lathe/Mill, additive manufacture, laser cutting etc.). About the person You may be an experienced FE trainer/tutor, or a newly qualified tutor, but we would certainly encourage applications from those working in this industry too. Experience of manufacturing and production, quality improvement, leading projects/programmes would also be of benefit. You should have a minimum of a HND in a relevant Engineering discipline, or/and relevant industry standard qualifications and experience. You will ideally possess a recognised teaching qualification and/or assessor/IQA awards, or be willing to work towards these with funding support from the College. Recent experience within a manufacturing / engineering industry would be a significant advantage.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop students’ 2D and 3D CAD and CAM skills (AutoCAD, SolidWorks, Fusion 360, CNC Lathe/Mill, additive manufacturing, laser cutting, etc.)
  • Teach a range of CAD/CAM/Manufacturing & Production units across Level 2, 3 (& 4) programmes including apprenticeship standards.
  • Assist in developing the professional behaviours of the future engineering workforce.
  • Apply industry experience, quality improvement and project leadership as needed.
Qualifications and Experience
  • Minimum HND in a relevant engineering discipline or equivalent industry qualifications and experience.
  • Recognised teaching qualification and/or assessor/IQA awards preferred; willing to work towards these.
  • Recent experience within a manufacturing/engineering industry is a significant advantage.
  • Experience as FE trainer/tutor or newly qualified tutor; applications from professionals in industry encouraged.
Salary and Benefits
  • Salary: Up to £43,408 per annum (subject to experience and qualifications).
  • Progression beyond point 12 of the salary scale (£40,407) is subject to tutors obtaining QTLS.
  • Staff with Advanced Teacher Status (ATS) via the Society for Education and Training (SET) are eligible to receive an enhanced salary of £44,875.
  • 57 days annual leave per year (including bank holidays and efficiency closures).
  • Generous Occupational Pension Scheme.
  • Financial support towards teacher training course fees up to £7,000 over two years.
