ROLE DESCRIPTION
Services required

We are seeking a specialist contractor to provide their services for a set of key dates and sessions on one of our modules, within our academic calendar. Services are to be provided on a contractor basis (self-employed or limited company) on the following dates during 2026:

The day rate for this work will be £290 inclusive of any VAT which may be chargeable.

Location

You will carry out the services at the London School of Architecture, Beechwood Road, London E8 3DY.

High level summary of role

This module fosters an appreciation that the technical is intimately entwined with the spatial, cultural, environmental, social and political. Prospective tutors should therefore be equally able to engage with both the technical aspects of a student’s work as the spatial, cultural, environmental, social and political aspects.

Module delivery (student facing)
  • Support the delivery of the module, participating in workshops, tutoring sessions, and reviews, as required by the Module Leader to facilitate interaction with and engagement by students.
  • Engage with associated learning resources to stimulate student activity and engagement.
  • Monitor student wellbeing in module groups, addressing any concerns sensitively and effectively in collaboration with the Programme Leader and Academic and Student Support teams.
  • Provide the student cohort with regular feedback on their contributions - both informally during sessions, and with written feedback following Formative and Summative assessment points.
Module delivery (management)
  • Notify any student engagement problems to the Programme Leader for action.
  • Maintain accurate records of attendance in collaboration with the Academic and Student Support teams.
  • Assist with ensuring that alternative arrangements are in place in the event of any Tutor not being able to deliver their allocated teaching.
  • Contribute to programme processes such as Validation and External Examination visits, as required by the Programme Leader.
  • Provide feedback to the Module Leader for incorporation into any module updates, to maintain and enhance the quality of delivery and an engaging student learning experience.
Management of Assessments
  • Follow guidance on the marking strategy for the relevant assessments.
  • Complete assignment marking allocated to you in time scales provided.
  • Contribute to the moderation procedures in collaboration with the Module Leader.
  • Provide guidance to students on reflecting on their feedback and how to feed forward their learning to other assessments.
