Job description

Overview

The Trust Registrar post will be responsible for the day-to-day management of elective and trauma. This includes patients on the Paediatric wards and in ED. They will be responsible to supervise the CT/F2 doctors and will be expected to attend the orthopaedic clinics, specialist clinics, theatre and ward rounds.

Responsibilities
  • Manage the day-to-day provision of elective and trauma care, including patients on the Paediatric wards and in ED.
  • Supervise CT/F2 doctors.
  • Attend orthopaedic clinics, specialist clinics, theatre and ward rounds.
  • Carry out elective work at the North Tees site and the Hartlepool site (an accredited surgical hub).
  • Work with Consultants in trauma, lower limb, upper limb, hand and wrist surgery.
  • The hand and wrist team does not take part in the general trauma on-call rota but covers the hand trauma workload with no out-of-hours work.
  • Teaching opportunities are available to the successful candidate.
