A leading London hospital is seeking a Trust Grade Doctor for a position at the National Hospital for Neurology and Neurosurgery. The role involves the day-to-day care of neurology patients, conducting assessments, and ensuring patient records are accurately updated. The position offers daily teaching opportunities and supervision by qualified staff. Ideal candidates will have experience in general medicine within a UK hospital. This role starts in February 2026, with applications closing on 20 November 2025.
Applicants are invited for the post of ST1-2 Trust Grade (SHO Level) working at the National Hospital for Neurology and Neurosurgery (NHNN), Queen Square.
The Trust Grade Doctor will have primary charge of the day‑to‑day care of neurology patients. The position holder will clerk and perform neurological assessments on patients on admission and discharge. They will ensure accurate update of patient records, liaising with the full range of multi‑disciplinary teams involved in patient care and ensuring discharge summaries are completed within set time frame.
As the post holder will manage the Neurology inpatients overnight without a registrar on site (NHNN only), experience in general medicine in a UK hospital is preferred.
There are daily opportunities to attend teaching. These include grand rounds, clinico‑pathologic cases, bedside teaching and consultant‑led tutorials, often by international experts. Two protected teaching sessions: a weekly teaching session for MRCP PACES neurology and a weekly CMT teaching session tied to the curriculum and delivered by consultants.
All trainees will have a named educational supervisor and an electronic portfolio on which to log progress.
Queen Square is minutes from Russell Square and Holborn underground stations in central London and has good transport connections to national rail and bus networks.
Position to start in February 2026 for 6 months. Vacancy will close on 20 November 2025 at 23:59.
